Before we meet, we’ll have you take our online style quiz so we can get a sense of what style you’re drawn to and your likes and dislikes. Once you’ve completed that, we’ll set up a time to meet at your home. The initial consultation usually lasts about an hour. We’ll use this time to get to know you, your space, and ask you details about your goals for the project. We’ll wrap up with some measurements and photographs of your space and discuss the plan for moving forward.

Short answer? Nothing. In fact, we insist that you don’t tidy up before we come. We want to see your space in all her glory – so we can do our best job to understand how to make it look and function beautifully.
If you really want to do something, spend some time with magazines and websites to find spaces that you love that we can use to inspire your design. If you’re into Pinterest, go ahead and start a board for all your ideas. Houzz is another one of our favourites!
We will conduct in-home consultations anywhere in the Waterloo Region. If you are outside this area, please contact us and we can discuss ways that we could help you meet your goals.
If you are doing the shopping, we will make sure that the items come from places you are willing to travel to or can be shipped to you at a cost you find reasonable. Toronto has some great furniture and accessory retailers that we really, really (really) want to come to Waterloo Region. Until that happens, if you’re willing to make the trip to the big city, that opens up a lot of options to you.
If you have favourite retailers or specific goals in mind (e.g. sustainable materials) we will happily try to meet those requests.
We think the more important question is, what’s YOUR style? Don’t know? We’ll help you figure it out! We have experience working in a variety of design styles, from contemporary to traditional, modern to shabby chic, and more. To develop a plan for your space, we will draw on our practiced knowledge of design principles in addition to a personalized assessment of your style. Our end goal is a stylish space that is a reflection of what speaks to you and your life.
A short while after our visit to your home, we will send you a Style Guide. Depending on the scope of your project, your guide may include paint colours, furniture layout, accessory inspirations and a detailed shopping guide. This is your space and you need to love it, so you will have a chance to review and tweak the style plan. We include revisions for up to 3 items with every plan.
We have a roster of trusted contractors that we can call on to support your project. Of course, if you have your own or wish to DIY – that’s a-ok by us too. Just promise us you’ll measure twice and cut once.
Do hours and hours of watching HGTV and reading House & Home magazine count? We kid. Tilly+Bridge is certified as an International Decorating and Design Professional® and we have lots of experience applying design and organization principles in a variety of home and office spaces.
In another life, we have worked and trained in project management and evaluation, skills that make us really good at assessing needs and measuring outcomes.
We knew you’d ask. Tilly and Bridge(t) are names we love but never got the chance to use when naming our broods. There are no more actual babies in our future, so we gave them new life as Tilly+Bridge. We love the balance of beauty and function that comes from the combination of these two names – a balance we believe all spaces should (and can!) have. We’ll show you how.
